    In the frenzy of dance

    Aleksandra Mikulska: piano

Aleksandra Mikulska's playing can be characterised as honest and personal. In concert, the charismatic pianist wants to open up foreign worlds and touch people with complete devotion.

She grew up in Warsaw and was honoured as the best Polish pianist at the 2005 Chopin Competition. Now a professor of piano at the Carl Maria von Weber University of Music in Dresden and President of the Chopin Society in Darmstadt, she performs at major venues such as the Vienna Musikverein and the Zurich Tonhalle and is a guest at international festivals.

In Vellern, Aleksandra Mikulska plays mazurkas, waltzes and preludes by Frédérik Chopin as well as the Hungarian Rhapsody No. 11 by Franz Liszt.

Due to the illness of the artist, the concert on 7 November 2024 had to be cancelled at short notice. A rescheduled date will be announced shortly. Tickets already purchased remain valid, but can also be refunded.

    Classical Jewish music

    Liebmann Trio: piano, violoncello, violin

There is a great artistic tradition in classical Jewish music. This includes world-famous names such as Mendelssohn, Mahler and Offenbach. There are also wonderful works by lesser-known composers.

Helene Liebmann, the trio's namesake, is a discovery from around 1800, while Ernst Bloch, Erwin Schulhoff and Paul Schönfiel create a new musical language of modernism from Jewish tradition. Works by the young violinist and composer Roman Padlewski as well as the composer Anna Segal and the composer Don Jaffé can be heard in major concert halls today.

The Liebmann Trio with Monica Gutmann, Ramón Jaffé and Gernot Süsmuth will present an exciting concert evening with works by these composers.

Postponed to Thursday, 30 January 2025

    The brilliant flute

Together with the Japanese pianist Risa Kobayashi, who initially studied in Japan before moving to the Musikhochschule Münster in 1999, Shaya Eldar will perform some of the most brilliant and virtuosic pieces of the flute repertoire.

The programme includes solo pieces for flute and pieces for flute and piano by Georg Philipp Telemann, Bohuslav Martinu, Pierre Sancan, Charles-Marie Widor, André Jolivet and Niccolò Panganini.

The first part of the concert is dedicated to the German and American composers Russell Peterson, August Klughardt and Max Bruch. In the second part of the concert, the musical journey continues to South America and Spain with works by Astor Piazzolla and Manuel de Falla.
