Beckumer Spitzen - Cabaret at the Municipal Theatre

Dear audience, dear guests,

As early as the 13th century, the scholar Albertus Magnus formulated the sentence: "The perfection of a city depends on the arts cultivated in it." Applied to the present day, it can be deduced from this that art and culture are an indispensable part of a city's social life. Especially in times that demand a lot from all of us - marked by great challenges - we can be proud of the fact that our city of Beckum "affords" a diverse and accessible cultural programme.

The Cultural Office of the City of Beckum has succeeded in attracting high-calibre artists for the 2024/2025 season who will guarantee you entertaining cultural evenings at moderate prices.

We wish you many entertaining and stimulating hours at the Stadttheater Beckum

    RÜDIGER HOFFMANN
    MAL EHRLICH ...
    Thursday, 7 November

Crises and worries everywhere - but life is so beautiful. Although, actually, not always. In his new comedy programme, cult comedian Rüdiger Hoffmann puts his finger in the wounds of everyday life and pokes happily at them: from his teenage son's agonising school concert to extreme holidays with an Andalusian organic farmer, fashion advice with his wife and the apocalypse at a family party. We meet unforgettable personalities such as power pensioner Frankie with his jellyfish tattoo, the internet Casanova with the falsetto voice and heiress Hedwig, the pig baroness. Rüdiger Hoffmann takes us on a highly amusing adventure into the colourful heart of real life. There are also some great new songs, performed by the master himself on the keyboard. An evening for the diaphragm and the heart.

    ERWIN GROSCHE
    THE FOLLOWING -

HOW THE ERROR CAME INTO THE WORLD
    Wednesday, 22 January 2025

Erwin Grosche has been performing on the country's cabaret stages for over 50 years. "Die Follkommenheit - Wie der Vehler in die Welt kam" is the title of his special programme, which once again celebrates the small, the simple, the weak, the background and Westphalia.
What the Paderborn comedian does on stage is unparalleled: Because Erwin Grosche is an original. If you wanted to name role models for his texts, Christian Morgenstern (1871 - 1914) would be the most likely. His comic poetry forms the blueprint for Grosche's obsession with absurd poetry. "Blueprint" not in the sense of "copy", because the Paderborn comedian is far too original to be content with mere copying. His lyrics - and above all the background music - are 100 per cent inimitable Grosche. Curtain up!

    HOLGER BLÜDER
    DER MENSCH
    Friday, 14 February 2025

After many years of combining the wordplay of Heinz Erhardt with the bizarre humour of Georg Kreisler, concert pianist, conductor and music school director Holger Blüder now looks at the various character traits of Homo sapiens in his new programme "Der Mensch". However, only the less good ones, as these are much more productive - at least from a cabaret point of view... Holger Blüder presents our numerous weaknesses with songs by Udo Jürgens, Reinhard Mey, Bodo Wartke, Pigor & Eichhorn, Die Feisten, Die Prinzen, Schwarze Grütze, the Wise Guys and many more, which he combines in a charming way with poems and stories by Eugen Roth and Ephraim Kishon, among others. A varied and entertaining evening is guaranteed (even if it is about the bad side of humanity and those present are only excluded in exceptional cases).

    MIRIAM HANIKA
    *INNENLEBEN
    Sunday, 30 March 2025

Lyrics "reminiscent of the poems of Mascha Kaleko or Erich Kästner" (WDR4), a "warm-sounding, benevolent singing voice that guides you through a wonderfully timeless event" (Good Times) and an oboe degree that "gives her a stable base and wings" (hr2 kultur) - Miriam Hanika is all that. In Beckum, she will present her new album "*innenleben", which was created together with the Poesie Orchester and the Dandelion Quintett. Purple Schulz says about her in his programme "Songpoeten": "There are albums that are so beautiful that I don't even know which piece I'm going to include in my show. For me, Miriam is the philosopher among German songwriters, in any case she is a truly outstanding [...] poet."

    SIMONE SOLGA
    IS ALSO TRUE
    Saturday, 12 April 2025

Don't you agree? The best Germany of all time increasingly looks like a giant padded cell. And woe betide anyone who complains. About a policy that can no longer do anything and can no longer get anything right. Our country is supposed to become more colourful every day, yet many people only see black: from the railways to the Bundeswehr. The most diverse thing about Germany is now its various failures. We once had the zero hour, today we have the hour of zeros. It's true! And that's why it's time to stop keeping quiet. Simone Solga dares to make her own personal revolution: she simply calls a spade a spade. And refuses to take all the nonsense seriously. A single enchanting impertinence! Because life is too beautiful, too short and far too funny to be made a miserable mess of by the loonies. Cheerfully into the abyss with Solga: that's the least you should treat yourself to.

    THE HERCULES CLUB
TUNNEL IN SIGHT. LAUGH WHEN IT'S TO HOWL.
    Saturday, 12 April 2025

Is it cabaret? Is it theatre? Wolfgang Schaller calls his new programme, which is his 52nd production at the Herkuleskeule, a cabaret play. TUNNEL IN SIGHT: Waiting on a deserted railway platform are the unemployed pig's ear saleswoman Dörte from Dorte, who wants to become a superstar (Birgit Schaller), the doctor-to-be Walentin Karl, who is always in the know (Hannes Sell), and the Saxon Fridolin Kasper, whose company Särge & Co is always doing well when others are doing badly (Frank Weiland). In the midst of all the crises, their motto is: Laugh when it makes you cry. Wolfgang Schaller's black-bitten texts reflect an absurd reality between loud hilarity and quiet thoughtfulness. As always, Jens Wagner and Volker Fiebig bear witness to the ensemble's musicality. The press wrote after the premiere: "Laughter wakes you up, and polished wordplay activates the brain. If you allow laughter, it sometimes gets stuck in your throat. The rebellious normalo trio serves up brisk, time-critical thigh-slappers and then immediately turns the big wheels of our civilisation, which have long since run into the sand, with bitter mockery."
