Ways out of loneliness
Everyone needs fulfilling social relationships and people they feel they belong to. This can become more difficult the older you get.
In many conversations with older people as part of the senior citizens' planning programme, it became clear that the issues of loss and loneliness also concern older Beckum residents.
Older people who are socially isolated, widowed or in poor health suffer particularly frequently from feelings of loneliness. At the same time, loneliness and social isolation have a negative impact on physical and mental health.
You can do something about loneliness - the earlier the better. The Beckum Working Group on Policies for the Elderly will address this issue from 2025 and consider what can be done to prevent it in Beckum.

Services map - Loneliness competence network
ISS gemeinnütziger e.V. operates and maintains a map of services to combat loneliness. It shows a wide range of offers in Germany and a search function can be used to see which offers are available in your own region.
Beim Silbernetz e.V. bieten ehrenamtliche sogenannte „Silbernetz-Freunde/Freundinnen“ bundesweit Hilfe für ältere Menschen mit Einsamkeitsgefühlen. Mit einem dreistufigen Angebot öffnet das Angebot Türen aus der Isolation.
Die BAGSO – Bundesarbeitsgemeinschaft der Seniorenorganisationen vertritt die Interessen der älteren Generationen in Deutschland. Sie setzt sich für ein aktives, selbstbestimmtes und möglichst gesundes Älterwerden in sozialer Sicherheit ein. In einer vielfältigen Gesellschaft fördert die BAGSO ein differenziertes Bild vom Alter.#
