In the shop formerly occupied by Betten Beckmann, she now also offers high-quality wooden toys. The larger space has created a family and child-friendly environment with a play corner, breastfeeding and nappy-changing facilities. Books and toys can be ordered on site and are then quickly ready for collection.

Mayor Michael Gerdhenrich congratulated the owner on the new opening and praised the great concept at the new location: "I am very pleased that the branch mix in Beckum's city centre is being expanded to include the extremely underrepresented toy sector and that the vacancy is being directly revitalised." Customers were completely satisfied at the opening. The new play area was also immediately taken up.

Immediate city centre programme
The city centre management was involved in the expansion plans right from the start. This is because the Holota bookshop benefits from the NRW city centre immediate action programme. In return, the building owners thankfully waive part of their rent. Conversions can also be supported. The town of Beckum is a contractual partner during the funding period.

Still looking for creative people
The former Margret Holota shop at Nordstraße 29 and other vacant premises also have the opportunity to open a business as part of the immediate action programme. The town centre management of the town of Beckum is also happy to provide support here. The contact person is Helga Grothues from the City Marketing Department, 02521 29-1705, grothues@beckum.de
