Temperatures are increased slightly
There was no gas shortage last winter. Nevertheless, it remains important to save energy. Overall, however, the situation has eased. Gas storage facilities are significantly fuller than predicted last year. "Our citizens have behaved in an exemplary manner recently, but have had to do without a lot. It's important to keep a sense of proportion and to relax savings measures again if the situation allows," says Mayor Michael Gerdhenrich. With this in mind, the temperatures in the swimming pools will be raised again, and warm showers will also be available again in all gyms after Easter. This was announced by the city of Beckum and its own energy supply and swimming pool company.
This means that hot water will be flowing from the shower pipes in the sports halls again after Easter. The outdoor pools will be heated to 23 degrees in the coming season. In the indoor pool season next winter, there will again be 2 warm bathing days with a minimum temperature of 30 degrees on Mondays and Thursdays from 1.15 pm. On Mondays, the pool water will be as warm as 32 degrees from midday, so that the baby swimming and water familiarisation courses for 1 to 2-year-olds are possible again.
Last September, the city launched a catalogue of measures to save energy. This provided for savings with a sense of proportion, without restricting leisure and sports activities too much.
