Future schoolchildren visit the mayor

"Little rascals" have lots of questions

What are the duties of a mayor? Does he have a crown? Does he live in a mansion? These and many other questions were asked by the soon-to-be schoolchildren from the municipal kindergarten "Die kleinen Strolche" at Beckum town hall.

    • The "Sonnenkinder", the future schoolchildren of the "Kleine Strolche", are easily recognisable by their blue T-shirts with their names. Now they have visited the mayor in 2 groups with their teachers.

    Mayor Michael Gerdhenrich received the day-care centre children and their teachers in 2 groups in his office and did not fail to answer their questions.

    More than 500 people work in the administration in various facilities and areas, whether in green maintenance, culture or business development, in the fire brigade, the registry office or the swimming pools. The city is also responsible for 2 kindergartens, including "Die kleinen Strolche". The 17 children now know that.

    The highlight of the visits was the search for the town key and the chain of office. The mayor wears the chain on special occasions and hands over the key to the respective carnival prince for the carnival days. The children were allowed to wear both themselves. The children thanked him with their song of thanks and were a lot smarter after their trip to the town hall.
