Anniversary weekend 7 to 9 June

Pictures of the day: Saturday

The calculation worked out. The Höhner cast a spell over everyone and spread a great atmosphere at the packed Westenfeuermarkt. They play one carnival hit after another and visibly enjoy the enthusiasm of the Beckum audience, who know the lyrics. Beforehand, the carnivalists sweetened the anticipation for all carnivalists with a parade and music.

During the day, further programme items were added with the event areas in Pulort, on Weststraße and on Nordstraße. The primary school children sang spiritedly and with lots of movement as the Earth Choir Kids together with children's songwriter Reinhard Horn for a good future. The agricultural associations formed up on Weststraße and attracted a lot of attention with tasty treats, interesting facts and new and historic machines. Filou in Pulort took visitors far back into the past. Exciting stalls, historical merry-go-rounds and a staged presentation of the Beckum attacks took visitors back to the Middle Ages at the RUMMELskedi and made them laugh and marvel.

The Oststraße and Clemens-August-Straße also had a historical flavour, with 35 Hanseatic cities presenting themselves in original ways at the Hanseatic market. The Hanseatic games at St Stephen's Church were all about skill and fun. Mayor Michael Gerdhenrich officially opened the 41st Westphalian Hanseatic Day, which is taking place today and tomorrow in Beckum, together with Herford's mayor Tim Kähler.

After the Höhnern, the show continues with KCB, the Cologne cover band from Everswinkel.
