Automatic car park monitoring in future
New regulation for EDEKA car park
The previous practice of monitoring stationary traffic in the EDEKA car park on Sternstraße will end on 30 June. Since 2006, employees of the city of Beckum have monitored the private car park on the basis of a contract with the property owner and issued warnings where necessary.
EDEKA is now switching to automatic licence plate recognition. From 1 July, anyone who parks for too long will receive a payment request from a private service provider. This service provider will also specify the extent to which parking is permitted outside opening hours.
The town of Beckum expressly points out that from 1 July it will no longer be responsible for any parking tickets and will have no influence on the parking situation. Those affected should contact the service provider or EDEKA directly. City warnings issued up to that date will not lose their validity.
