Anniversary weekend from 7 to 9 June

Programme leaves nothing to be desired

In addition to the highly anticipated top acts (Höhner, Stefanie Heinzmann, Jupiter Jones and others) and the winning bands of the song contest "Dein Song für Beckum" on the main stage at Westenfeuermarkt as well as the already announced music programme on the market square, there will be event areas throughout the city centre in which many city activists will be involved.

Mayor Michael Gerdhenrich and the town marketing team, together with Sparkasse Beckum-Wadersloh as the main sponsor, have now presented the details of the programme, which is sure to leave nothing to be desired.

"The programme is jam-packed with highlights and a celebration by Beckumers for Beckumers," said the mayor, who also highlighted the many other projects in the anniversary year.

The hopefully numerous guests can expect an exciting programme in 8 event areas throughout the city centre.

Preliminary flyer on the programme

On the anniversary weekend, the entire city centre becomes a festival mile.

Westenfeuermarkt: Big stage with top acts
The Westenfeuermarkt is transformed into a festival site with its big stage. On Friday, the winning bands of the "Dein Song für Beckum" contest and then pop stars such as Jupiter Jones and Stefanie Heinzmann will heat up the audience before DJ MBP creates a party atmosphere at night. Saturday is dedicated to the Beckum carnival with a carnival parade under the motto "Summer, Sun, Rumskedi", crowned by a performance by the "Höhner". On Sunday, the shooting clubs, bands, guilds and offices celebrate the "Day of Tradition" with a morning pint and lots of music. There is also an ecumenical church service.

41st Westphalian Hanseatic Day
As part of the big anniversary weekend, the Hanseatic town of Beckum is organising the 41st Westphalian Hanseatic Day. At the Hanseatic market on Oststraße and Clemens-August-Straße, 35 Hanseatic towns and cities present themselves with their attractions and delicacies. Behind the scenes, the delegates of the Hanseatic cities meet to make new plans until the flag is handed over to the next station, Recklinghausen, on Sunday evening.

Market square becomes a chill area
Beckum's market square not only offers an atmospheric stage programme over three days, but also invites you to relax and enjoy the food and drink on offer. A vineyard with Italian wines and delicacies will be set up especially for the weekend.

Gastromeile Hühlstraße
Hühlstraße attracts visitors with a wine festival and street food festival. A small cultural stage provides the perfect ambience.

Weststraße becomes an agricultural mile
On Saturday and Sunday, the agricultural sector and its various associations will be ploughing Weststraße. In keeping with the anniversary motto Yesterday - Today - Tomorrow, sowing techniques from three generations will be presented. Influencer Marie Hoffmann is expected to take part in a panel discussion.

Future Mile on the town hall square
The town hall car park is dedicated to innovations and future topics. Whether it's a dandelion construction wagon, biathlon facility, 3D printing or digital technology: entertaining knowledge formats and exciting experiments await young and old alike.

RUMMELskedi in Pulort
The Pulort district is transformed into a historical funfair. Surprises, cabinets of curiosities and peep boxes await at every corner. The visit becomes an exciting journey through time, as the theatre makers from the Filou cultural initiative have their fingers in the pie.

City.Walk and Stadtgestalten on Nordstraße
Thanks to the City.Initiative Beckum, Nordstraße will be transformed into a red carpet with a City Walk, where traders will present their new products in an entertaining way. They are joined by the city characters.
