Exhilarating festival comes to an end

There was something to discover and experience at every corner and in almost every nook and cranny of the 8 event areas. Live musical acts at their best, theatre with a historical funfair, infotainment and tasty treats, tradition and innovation, parades turned the entire city into a party mile. The result: happy and satisfied faces all round among the visitors, but also among all those who helped to organise the festival and put on something truly unique.

The commitment paid off. The city was full of people who celebrated in a relaxed and exuberant manner and visibly enjoyed the many programme items. As predicted, it was at its fullest during the performance of "Höhner", when around 10,000 fans listened to the concert on the Westenfeuermarkt and enthusiastically sang along to all the hits. At peak times, there were up to 7,000 people on the rest of the event site. It has been proven once again: Beckum can party!

Elmar Liekenbröcker, head of the coordination committee for major events at the city of Beckum, draws a positive initial conclusion at the end of the three-day celebrations from a safety perspective. The permanent members of the committee have been meeting since December 2023 and, in addition to the police, fire and rescue services, also include the building inspectorate, the law and order department with the road traffic division and the municipal press office. The festival was supported by a security service and, thankfully, by volunteers from the German Red Cross.

The number of visitors was in line with the planning. All in all, it was a peaceful festival without any major incidents.
