Environmental lessons for daycare centre children

How does the electricity get into the socket?

The children learn vividly how electricity is generated or how a photovoltaic system works. In this way, environmentally friendly behaviour and ecological knowledge are promoted in a playful way and an understanding of renewable energies is strengthened.

Playful discovery

On Monday, the children at St Michael's day care centre in Roland had a visit from Malin Krämer from the German Environmental Action Association. She invited the children to discover different methods of generating electricity using small power station models. They were able to actively participate in small groups and contribute their knowledge. They not only learnt new things, but also discussed topics such as climate change andCO2 consumption. The children really got involved and were enthusiastic about the environmental lessons in their daycare centre.

The team behind the campaign, Jutta Müller-Knipping from Energieversorgung Beckum (EVB), Verena Drongowski from Sparkasse Beckum-Wadersloh and Max Hegemann, climate protection manager for the town of Beckum, were also able to see the success of the project for themselves.
