Programme for the anniversary weekend in front of the town hall

Mile of the future attracts with innovations and exciting topics

On the big anniversary weekend from 7 to 9 June, the entire city centre will be a party mile from dawn to dusk.

That's what's going on at the town hall square:

The dandelion construction trolley is available for younger guests. Here, children can try out exciting experiments to their heart's content. Children and young people can also enjoy a craft station and a street art activity organised by the City of Beckum's Youth and Social Affairs Department. The University Competence Centre with the HOKO Lab offers the exclusive AI workshop "Programming self-driving cars with artificial intelligence" on Friday from 3 to 5 pm. Register for this workshop at hoko-waf.de.

Reinhard Horn and the Earth Choir Kids
A special highlight for children is the climate concert by the creative children's songwriter, composer and "most amazing children's understander" Reinhard Horn on Saturday, 8 June at 12 noon. With over three million records sold, he is one of the most successful German children's songwriters. As a large "Earth Choir Kids" choir, several hundred children from Beckum schools will perform with him and present great songs about the climate. In between, there will be talks with, among others, Mayor Michael Gerdhenrich, the head of the youth and social affairs department Olaf Schulte and the children's mayor of the Neubeckum leisure centre Juli.

Talks and experiments
Adults can look forward to all kinds of knowledge formats with talks and experiments on and in front of the stage, including Beckum's Daniel Gyro Gearloose Georgios Staikos with live 3D printing, energy advice with the consumer advice centre, care and housing advice, secure online banking with Sparkasse Beckum-Wadersloh and the AWG-Umweltmobil. The "digital angels" educate older people in particular about digital applications and the possibilities of digital technology and services. Thanks to the industrial association, older children can put their skills to the test on the digital biathlon course.
