Free wildflower mix for sowing

Beckum blossoms for the anniversary

The wildflower mixture from German breeding was bottled especially for the 800th anniversary celebrations of the town of Beckum to create a magnificent sea of flowers in as many places in the town as possible.

Seeds are folded in

The people of Beckum are cordially invited to do the same as the children of the Sonnenschule and make their front gardens bloom - especially on the anniversary weekend from 7 to 9 June, when thousands of guests will find their way to the city.

The wildflower seeds not only produce a variety of magical flowers, but are also an important source of pollen and nectar for insects, butterflies and beetles. "I am delighted when we as a city and with the support of our citizens can make a contribution to promoting biodiversity. If, as a positive side effect, a blossoming landscape is created to coincide with the anniversary celebrations, this is not only sustainable, but also particularly beautiful," says Mayor Michael Gerdhenrich.

Join in now and let Beckum blossom!

The free sachets, each containing 4 grams of home flower seeds for 2 square metres, are now available for collection during opening hours at the Beckum town council offices, at BE-lebt at Nordwall 49 in Beckum or at Verve at Hauptstraße 37 in Neubeckum.

The town of Beckum is happy to receive pictures of the floral splendour at stadtmarketing@beckum.de and is happy to share the submitted photos on social media.
