Both outdoor pools celebrate anniversaries

Water is running: Outdoor pools in the starting blocks

Preparations for the coming season are already in full swing at both outdoor pools. The benches have been freshly painted, the tiles refurbished and the green areas spruced up. And since yesterday, the Neubeckum outdoor pool has been ready for the water.

The water hose runs around the clock and will have filled the large pools after 3 to 4 days. However, the pool team still has a lot to do before the two outdoor pools open. Weather permitting, the Neubeckum outdoor pool will open its doors on 11 May. Beckum starts the outdoor pool season on 18 May, while the indoor pool is open up to and including 16 May.

"The outdoor pools are very much appreciated. It's great that we have them," emphasised Mayor Michael Gerdhenrich at the press event. This was demonstrated particularly impressively by the public participation in the renovation of the Neubeckum outdoor pool this week, in which around 250 Neubeckum residents took part. He also thanked the sponsors and clubs for their commitment to the pools.

Outdoor pool anniversaries
The two outdoor pools have every reason to celebrate this year. Neubeckum is celebrating its 85th birthday, while Beckum's outdoor pool is 65 years old. The sponsoring associations, supported by Sparkasse Münsterland Ost as the main sponsor among others, are organising a number of highlights. You should already make a note of the dates for the two outdoor pool festivals with an anniversary programme: Beckum outdoor pool celebrates its outdoor pool festival on 15 June, Neubeckum invites you to an outdoor pool party on 19 June. Synchronised swimming in both pools as well as guided tours of the technical facilities and a flea market at Beckum open-air pool round off the open-air pool festivals.

The rest of the season has further attractions in store: From 14 to 15 June, you can camp at the Neubeckum outdoor pool. There will be a summer pool party in Beckum on 4 July, a foam party in Neubeckum on 11 July, mermaiding in the Neubeckum outdoor pool on 7 August and evening swimming in the Beckum outdoor pool on 22 August. Details of the events will be announced in good time.

For the third time, children and young people have free admission to the Neubeckum outdoor pool during the summer holidays, thanks to another generous donation from Reinhard Habrock. A new play ship awaits little sailors at the Beckum outdoor pool.

Season tickets
On 25 April from 3 pm to 7 pm, you will have the opportunity to buy season tickets at the Neubeckum outdoor pool. The tickets are otherwise available via the online shop baedershop.beckum.de and at the indoor pool during ticket office hours.

Admission prices remain the same as last year. The opening hours for Monday have been reduced to 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. for staffing reasons.
