Allocation procedure for daycare places from August

Every child in Beckum receives a childcare offer

For around 70 per cent of families, the first or second preference was even taken into account with regard to the desired facility.

All families with children aged 4 or 5 were offered a childcare place in a daycare centre. Although it was not possible to provide a place in a daycare centre for 29 children under the age of 3, they too receive a reliable and legally compliant childcare service in a daycare centre. It was also not possible to offer 10 children over the age of 3 a place in a daycare centre, but the families concerned were offered individual childcare.

The town of Beckum currently offers a total of 1,365 places in daycare centres. In addition, 180 places are available with childminders (childminding). This form of childcare is particularly important in order to meet the demand for children under the age of 2. In addition, 30 places are currently occupied by children aged 3 and over in day care centres.

In June of this year, the town of Beckum will present its plans for the further expansion of the daycare centre in order to be able to offer even more childcare places in the coming year. But the following already applies this year: all children in Beckum will be offered childcare.
