Third classes experience a fairytale play

"The Red Maple" by Johannes Fritsch tells an enchanting Chinese fairy tale of courage, loyalty and the power of love. It is full of powerful images and Far Eastern magic. The specially composed contemporary music complements, underscores and enhances the text. The impressive, partly exotic percussion instruments transported the young audience into a faraway magical world.

In the Chinese fairy tale, the children experience a completely different music than they usually encounter in everyday life. In this way, they can experience contemporary music in the context of a fairy tale as an exciting, equally enriching aspect. The extent to which the pupils were immersed in the action was also reflected in the subsequent discussion with the Tat-Sachen Theatre artists Anna Murböck (narrator) and Jens Brülls (musician). In this context, the quite unusual elements of the drums were also mentioned: China cymbal, humpback gong, tam tam and marimba are now no longer foreign words for the children.

The performance, which is free of charge for the pupils, rounds off the Kulturstrolche "Drum Orchestra" workshops that are taking place these weeks.
