Online services

A visit to the authorities at the click of a mouse

And of course this also applies to the payment of fees, for which various online payment functions are available.

Around 20 services are currently listed as online services on the municipal website. And the trend is rising. It will soon also be possible to apply for birth, marriage and death certificates online.

"With the online services, we are improving the service and saving citizens from having to go to the town hall in many areas. We are constantly developing our online services," explains Mayor Michael Gerdhenrich.

The services are already being used extensively. Last year, around 100 digital applications were received by the citizens' office alone. In addition, around 100 businesses were registered, deregistered or re-registered at the click of a mouse.

The online services are centralised on the city's homepage and sorted by topic. Citizens can find typical administrative services there, but they can also buy cultural or bathing tickets.

And via the ideas and complaints app Meldoo, a report of faulty street lighting or a pothole can be sent directly to the relevant authority with just a few clicks.

If a visit to the town hall is necessary, the appointment at the citizens' office can be booked online in advance. This increases efficiency and minimises waiting times.

The city of Beckum also refers to the free online ID function of the ID card. This digital identification is required for some online services (e.g. applying for a certificate of good conduct). Further information can be found at www.personalausweisportal.de.
