800th anniversary celebration
Something is in store for our anniversary
Just in time for the 800th anniversary of the city, not only were the flower beds replanted at the western entrance to the city centre. In addition, 12 new, climate-resilient and bee-friendly leatherwood trees were planted, which are protected by trunk guards and form a small avenue. There are also 8 stainless steel bicycle racks for the safe parking of bicycles. This should increase the anticipation of the many events in the anniversary year.
The town of Beckum is receiving 60 per cent funding from the state programme "Sustainable inner cities and town centres" for the beautification, which will cost a total of 24,500 euros.
