Concert with flute and grand piano in the old vicarage
Shaya Eldar and Rias Kobayashi offered an extraordinary sound experience
The playing was characterised by explosive rhythmic power and the lovely lightness of a butterfly. Sometimes the light flute notes danced on the dark waves of the grand piano accompaniment, sometimes both artists engaged in a beguiling musical dance with each other. "A concert at its finest" was the unanimous verdict of the guests after the concert, which was rewarded with a standing ovation.
The two musicians mainly performed works from the late 19th and early 20th centuries, from Arthur Honneger to George Enescu and Bohuslav Martinu to Francis Poulenc and Charles-Marie Widor. The exception was the Concerto Opus 10 by Antonio Vivaldi - also known as "Il Gardellino" - which made the guests dream.
While the Israeli-born flautist Shaya Eldar, 19 years young, is still studying at the Münster University of Music, the slightly older Japanese-born Risa Kobayashi has completed her studies in Münster and performs throughout Europe. Both musicians can be said to be exceptionally talented without reservation.
This is also part of "Musik im Alten Pfarrhaus". It offers talented musicians the opportunity to present themselves to a wider, music-loving public.
