Great response at the first regional funding conference in the district of Warendorf
In order to continue to support the financial scope of towns and municipalities with the help of targeted funding management, the town of Oelde invited colleagues from the district of Warendorf to a specialist conference at the town hall on the initiative of Kommunal Agentur NRW. A representative from the town of Beckum also took part.
Back in 2019, the NRW Municipal Agency, together with the NRW Association of Towns and Municipalities, founded the NRW Funding Network (FNF for short) with the aim of supporting the acquisition of local funding and thus strengthening the scope of municipal budgets. Today, more than half of all NRW municipalities are members of the FNF. Under the leadership of Christian Scheffs, who is responsible for the FNF at the Kommunal Agentur NRW, colleagues from Warendorf, Ennigerloh, Oelde, Beelen, Drensteinfurt, Everswinkel, Ostbevern, Sendenhorst, Wadersloh and Beckum came together.
In terms of content, the experts discussed both the joint opportunities and added value of cooperation as well as the current local challenges. The participants praised the initiative and suggested further specialist conferences in the future, as regional and inter-municipal cooperation in the funding landscape could also be efficiently developed with less effort from individuals.
Daniel Pachal from the City of Beckum's Urban Planning and Economic Development Department hopes that the future regional conferences will also provide information on local improvements. "We have achieved good results in the past, for example with the remodelling of the church square. But with suggestions and impulses from the network, we hope, true to our slogan, to continue to make Beckum better and better in the future."
