"The Brilliant Flute" with Shaya Eldar and Risa Kobayashi

Shaya Eldar, born in Hod-Hasharon, Israel, began her musical training as a flautist at the age of 7 and studied with well-known Israeli flautists, including Professor Yossi Arnheim, former flautist of the Israeli Philharmonic Orchestra. After winning a major scholarship from the America-Israel Cultural Foundation, the artist continued her musical studies at the Musikhochschule Münster with Professor Eyal Ein-Habar. Numerous first prizes at international music competitions in Europe and Israel are proof of the young musician's exceptional talent.

At the concert in Vellern, the flautist will be accompanied by Risa Kobayashi on the grand piano. Born in Osaka, Risa Kobayashi initially studied in her home country before continuing her studies with Professor Michael Keller at the University of Music in Münster in 1999. Since graduating, she has focussed primarily on chamber music and regularly performs successfully at competitions and festivals.

The programme under the auspicious title "The Brilliant Flute" includes solo pieces for flute and pieces for flute and piano from the 19th and 20th centuries by Arthur Honneger, Francis Poulenc, George Enescu, Bohuslav Martinu, Charles-Marie Widor and the Concerto No. 3 in D major by Antonio Vivaldi.

Tickets for the chamber concert evening are available for 25 euros from the Beckum and Neubeckum Citizens' Offices, by telephone on 02521 29-3350, online at www.beckum.de/kartenvorverkauf and at the box office.
