Sexualised violence
Clubs sensitised
The town of Beckum, together with the Beckum Town Sports Association, had invited the local sports and carnival clubs to take part.
Speaker Inga Teckentrup works at the Warendorf District Sports Association as a specialist in "Prevention of sexualised violence and protection concepts". She informed the participants about the implications for clubs resulting from the State Child Protection Act and about support options. When it comes into force, all sports clubs in NRW that look after children and young people are obliged to develop and apply a child protection concept to safeguard the rights of children and young people and to protect them from violence.
For example, it is important to create a non-violent atmosphere in the club, to sensitise all club members to the topic, to educate them about the range of interpersonal and sexualised violence and to develop measures for prevention and intervention, to be aware of these and to anchor them within the club structures.
