Giving children a home

The number of children who, for various reasons, cannot grow up in their families in the long term is also growing steadily in the district of Warendorf. The Youth Welfare Offices and the Child Protection Association of the district are always trying to make it possible for very young children in particular to grow up in a family. Therefore, the cities of Beckum and Ahlen as well as the Child Protection Association of the district of Warendorf are permanently looking for foster families who can imagine giving a child a permanent home in safety and security. In addition to foster parents who would like to take in a child permanently, we are also looking for stand-by foster parents who can offer children a family environment for a limited period of time until their future prospects have been clarified.

Non-binding information evening in Ahlen
Anyone who can imagine this in principle and is interested in basic information on the subject of foster families is welcome to attend the information evening for interested parties on Wednesday, 20 September at 7 pm at the Familienbildungsstätte Ahlen, Klosterstraße 10 a, 59227 Ahlen.

Intensive preparation
The tasks of foster parents demand the whole personality. Intensive preparation and support are essential. Of course, the well-being of the child, but also of the host family, is paramount. The decision to take in a foster child for a longer period of time must be well thought out and prepared. This preparation takes place at the Child Protection Association and in the cities of Beckum and Ahlen in preliminary interviews, an applicant training and in evaluation interviews.

Basic interest?
The information evening is a cooperation event of the cities of Beckum and Ahlen and the Warendorf District Association of the German Child Protection League. It is not necessary to register in advance. Of course, the information evening is completely non-binding and open to anyone who can imagine this task for themselves in principle.
