NRW Order of Merit for Theresia Gerwing

Mayor Michael Gerdhenrich was one of the first in the state capital to congratulate Theresia Gerwing, a deserving and extremely committed local politician, on receiving the Order of Merit of the State. "Her outstanding and diverse commitment with a great deal of passion is something very special, and I am therefore delighted with Resi about this extremely well-deserved recognition. She has been committed to the well-being of the people of Beckum for four decades and has put her whole personality, warmth and dedication into her work," said the head of administration. "I congratulate her wholeheartedly and thank her for the consistently good and trusting cooperation on many levels."

The former head of the "Glocke" office has been a member of Beckum town council for the CDU parliamentary group since 1985 and is involved in several committees; she was elected to the district council for the first time in 1999. As deputy mayor, she has taken on a variety of representative tasks for the town of Beckum since 2004, such as attending events, anniversaries and special birthdays. "On many occasions and topics, she demonstrates an open ear and knows how to inspire others. With the Order of Merit, she is now being honoured and recognised," explained Michael Gerdhenrich.
