Daily swimming pays off

Renate Partsch is the 37,000th swimmer this season at the Neubeckum outdoor pool. A surprise awaited the swimmer at the entrance.

Whatever the weather, she goes swimming every day at the Neubeckum outdoor pool. As the 37,000th visitor, she is not only going home today with her wet swimming gear, but also with a bouquet of flowers from Mayor Michael Gerdhenrich and a voucher for 75 euros worth an outdoor pool season ticket for adults for 2024, which was presented to her by the Förderverein Freibad Neubeckum e. V. (Neubeckum Outdoor Pool Association).

Mayor Michael Gerdhenrich also expressly thanked Reinhard Habrock once again for his summer holiday campaign, which gave children and young people free admission to the Neubeckum outdoor pool.

2023 season records decline in visitors
Last year at the same time, 44,101 bathers were counted. The pool team attributes the decline to the poorer weather at times. The busiest day in 2023 was 25 June with 1,574 bathers.
