Dog owners receive mail

The reason for this is that there are dog owners who keep one or more dogs with the same tax number for many years, sometimes decades. If the dog or one of the dogs has already died, it is possible to reduce the tax burden on the dog owner.

Who was contacted?
All those who were liable for dog tax before 31 December 2018 were contacted in order to complete and update existing data. For more recent cases (if only one dog was registered), it is assumed that the existing data is up to date.

Data request
To facilitate queries, dog owners are asked to provide their mobile phone number and email address. This saves expensive and unsustainable correspondence.

The details of the dog's name, date of birth and gender are used - especially for dog owners with several dogs - to allocate the dog tax sticker to the "correct" dog. In the event of deregistration, this information ensures that the correct dog is deregistered.

The survey covers 1,609 dogs. Feedback is requested by 9 August.
