Roncalli school ahoy

A wooden play ship has replaced the previous platform in the ropes course at Roncalli School. The pupils immediately hijacked it and are delighted to have a cool new piece of play equipment in their school playground.

Instead of repairing the ageing platform, the school community and school authorities decided to join forces and replace it with a new play ship. The successful sponsored run and a grant from the school's sponsors' association made it possible to cover the additional costs.

And so the new equipment could finally be purchased and installed for 13,500 euros (including TÜV approval), the city of Beckum covered the saved repair costs of 5,000 euros and renewed the bark mulch in the ropes course, in the centre of which the new ship can now set sail and be boarded.
