Educational trip of the old E-Werk

Young people discover Berlin

In addition to exploring the city, the focus was on political and historical education. A visit to MP Bernhard Daldrup in the Bundestag gave the young people a direct insight into the fields of activity and tasks of parliament.

A visit to Europe's most species-rich zoo and an evening in an interactive, digital gamebox offered further opportunities to discover Berlin's extraordinary leisure activities. Another highlight was the "Festival of Lights". Berlin's most famous landmarks were illuminated in bright colours and motifs.

Thanks to a donation from the "Verein zur Förderung der Jugendgerichtshilfe Beckum e. V.", the young people were able to commemorate the murdered Jews, Sinti and Roma in Europe during the city walk "Berlin as a landscape of remembrance". This was a major concern for the group.

The social workers Janina Aufenvenne and Ricarda Huerkamp and their colleague Lennart Wille, who accompanied the young people on the educational trip, draw a thoroughly positive conclusion. The participants also really enjoyed the trip and expressed a desire for more such educational trips.
