Peace light illuminates the town hall

2 "Wölflinge", one "Juffi" and 2 "Pfadis" from the DPSG St Stephanus scouts, accompanied by the management team, brought the Light of Peace from Bethlehem to Mayor Michael Gerdhenrich.

Just in time for today's council meeting, Mayor Michael Gerdhenrich accepted the peace light from the scouts yesterday evening. They had lit it as part of the big sending out ceremony with around 2,200 scouts from the Münsterland region in Münster Cathedral on Sunday and are now making several stops in Beckum to pass on the beautiful message.

They also told the mayor about their activities over the past year and their plans for 2025, when the 70th anniversary will be celebrated. The Peace Light campaign, in which a flame lit in Bethlehem travels around the world, has the motto "Living diversity, shaping the future" this year.

Michael Gerdhenrich will take the light with him to the council meeting today.
