24 November
Equal opportunities officers invite you to the cinema
On Sunday, 24 November, women can watch the film "Tomorrow is another day" there free of charge. The screening starts at 7 pm in room 3 of the CinemAhlen cinema.
That's what it's about
The film tells the inspiring story of a woman who finds the courage to start again after serious setbacks in her life. It is a touching yet encouraging tale of strength, hope and self-belief that should encourage viewers not to let difficult situations get them down.
Please register!
Ahlen's Equal Opportunities Officer Elisa Spreemann asks you to register in advance by emailing gleichstellung@stadt.ahlen.de. As the number of seats is limited, she recommends not waiting too long to register. The cinema has space for 114 female viewers. The film screening is sponsored by the state of NRW.
International Day against Violence against Women and Girls
The International Day against Violence against Women and Girls, which takes place annually on 25 November, is also known as "Orange Day". On this day, people around the world take symbolic action to draw attention to the issue and show solidarity. Locally, the working group of local equal opportunities officers, together with the Round Table for Preventing and Combating Violence against Women and Domestic Violence in the district of Warendorf, organises various campaigns every year to raise awareness of this important issue.
The organisers are looking forward to using the film evening to send a visible signal against violence against women and girls and to show solidarity together. "Orange Day should remind us that a lot still needs to be done to end violence against women worldwide and that every step in this direction counts," says Elisa Spreemann. To give the International Day against Violence against Women and Girls even more public visibility, the Equal Opportunities Officer is distributing posters to institutions and companies in Ahlen. She also accepts enquiries at the above e-mail address.
