Planning for next year in full swing

Neubeckum town centre management continues

The contract with the office was extended after the state funding decision for the implementation of further ISEK projects was received. The team has been working in and for Neubeckum since January 2022 and works closely with Neubeckum's active residents. "During this time, we have already been able to implement a number of projects with the help of the disposition fund and the courtyard and façade programme to make Neubeckum's shopping area fit for the future. With the city terraces borrowed from Zukunftsnetz Mobilität NRW, we were also able to gather initial ideas for the future design of the main street," say the two. And this is exactly where they want to start.

As both programmes - the Disposal Fund and the Courtyard and Façade Programme - have been so well used, the state of NRW has also provided new funding for this. Funding is also available for the town's own terraces. The political representatives on the main and finance committee also agreed that the city terraces were a visible enhancement of the main street and spoke in favour of including money for the purchase in the municipal budget in September. They then want to discuss with the Neubeckum activists what their own city terraces should look like and where they should be set up. Until then, there are still two further urban development fund projects and a follow-up project from the urban development fund to be realised.

At its meeting last week, the Disposal Fund Advisory Board voted unanimously in favour of the construction of "newbie". The design for a stylish portable bench by Leander Fuchs came second in the student competition organised by Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts "Designing individual district furniture for Neubeckum". The Verve! association submitted the application and Volksbank generously sponsored part of the personal contribution. Heinz Holtmann GmbH & Co. KG will build the benches, and seven Neubeckum institutions have ordered a total of ten benches, making them a further component of the "Neubeckum brand". This also includes the realisation of place 1 from the competition: the Neubeckum lettering is to be realised as seating furniture on the town hall square.

The Neubeckum trade association has applied for a further disposal fund project: the design of the construction fences around the ruined building at the corner of Hauptstraße 41 and Spiekersstraße. Construction fence banners with Neubeckum motifs are to beautify the area. The Karl Pollmann KG is sponsoring its own contribution.
