"Small worlds"
Photos by Manfred Heimann in the Neubeckum leisure centre
Under the title "Small Worlds", the amateur photographer shows impressive photos of so-called "lost places" such as former kiosks or abandoned industrial halls, which impress with their very own charm and create contemporary references as if by chance. The artist from Ennigerloh, who lived in Berlin for a long time, is also fond of detailed shots of glass bricks from another era.
The former Neubeckum resident was part of the Neubeckum association "Apfelblüte", which organised numerous cultural events in the 70s and 80s. Heimann last exhibited in Neubeckum in 2021 in the old railway station building as part of an exhibition of works by several artists. Visitors to the exhibition in the Freizeithaus can now look forward to greater insights into his work.
The exhibition is free of charge and accessible during opening hours. It is the second exhibition in the new series, which also turns the Neubeckum leisure centre into a place for inner encounters, a quasi-museum. The district centre is thus expanding the participatory use of the premises on Gottfried-Polysius-Straße.
If you are interested in exhibiting here yourself, please contact the Freizeithaus team.
