Social Day organised by Beckumer Industrie e. V.

Forest bathing: Taster programme for young and old

The offer is a cooperation with the senior citizens' representative of the town of Beckum and Mrs Vollbracht, a trained course leader for forest bathing and mindfulness,

Participants stroll slowly and consciously through the forest, using all their senses to perceive the calming, low-stimulus forest atmosphere that is far removed from everyday life, carrying out breathing and sensory perception exercises and disconnecting from everyday life in the process. This triggers health-promoting reactions.

In its country of origin, Japan, "Shinrin Yoku" forest bathing has been a tradition since 1982 and is firmly anchored in the healthcare system there. It is used for the prevention and rehabilitation of numerous stress-related and psychological complaints.

The offer is free of charge. Participation is also possible with a rollator or wheelchair. The route is approximately 1.5 kilometres long and is walked at a slow pace with breaks. Please register by 29 October with Ms Benjilany, Beckum's senior citizens' representative: 02521 29-5014 or benjilany@beckum.de
