Beckum - town by the streams
The Beckumer Berge are characterised by a great wealth of springs and streams. Much more than just "highways" for the rapid drainage of water, they are a retention area in case of floods, habitat for animals, plants, people, adventure and recreation space.
In order to strengthen its function as a lifeline, the Werse and subsequently also its tributaries have been developed close to nature since 2001. Since then, many construction phases have been completed. The results can be seen and experienced, they have a positive impact on many areas and arouse curiosity for further development.
